No, it was more recently in one of the TH build threads over on AVS, but I couldn't find it in a quick search. Regardless, most folks over there use REW with good results.

John, show me a screen shot your control panel ( mixer ) for the soundcards' driver software .

FYI, I find M-Audios control panels somewhat less intuitive than they ought to be .

It's really easy to make a mistake within that mixer/monitor panel ( IME ) .

First thing I did was dug out an old amp I have, it is just 25 wpc built in the mid '70's when they were still built like tanks 35 years old and never had to replace a thing on it,bulbs still work. And I'm going to use that for my dedicated measuring amp.And I went through the steps of re-setting up the test gear. And I noticed an imediate improvement.I remeasured.Does this look better.

    This little dinky thing.

    This little dinky thing ?

    Yes, that's what I'm referring to .

Are those selections all greyed-out because you are unable to change them ?

    Or are they changeable ?
    - To see if they are changeable ( close down Holm & this panel ) then open up just the Fast TRack Pro sound panel .
    - If the choices are now changeable , // deselect the " Balanced input 1 ( mono ) " choice // then close this M-Audio panel / / & then fireup Holm and try to measure something .
    - Ie ; if you still have mic input into Holm / then that means the selection in question is actually a monitoring input ( feeding both outputs ) and is therefore feeding back into your results ( not good, since it'll contaminate the results ! ) .

No they are changeable once stream is active they grey out don't know why ? but before I active i can change inputs/outputs.

Ok will give it a whirl Thanks Earl !! (No Pun intended) Back in a minute :2thumbsup:

ADDED: No Earl no sound is picked up through the Mic here's the message from Holm. But a funny thing happened when I was uploading captures to photobucket one of those animation ads came on Photobucket i heard a click sound and then the ads sound started playing through the 288/511 that I was measuring.

    The reason is ;

    - Once data streaming is implemented by Holm / only Holm has "control" of that sound panel ( obviously, Holm must be open to have ownership/control ) .

So what next Earl did you take a look at the graphs, the new measurement of the 288 w/299 fram driver #2 ?

I'm going to re-measure the first 288's I measured.I have them on my 1005's now though to see if they are similar or consistant.

I suggest that you run a sweep with no input (as per my email). Disconnect the mic. If the no input sweep does not return a straight line way down the scale, then something is amiss. Alos turn off outputs 3&4 if you are not using them.

We may need to recalibrate your card if things still look odd.
